Their hearts lie with
the children
As founder and director of Pan de Vida, Carlos is ultimately responsible for all projects. He manages all the children’s restaurants in Peru, but also creates meals for the children himself. Together with the board, he determines how Pan de Vida can help even more children to a hopeful future. Carlos and Mariela are a father and mother to the children in the children’s home, as well as, of course, caring for their own family.
Give them a hopeful future!
Carlos and Mariela’s heart lies in helping poor families and taking care of the children. They receive no salary for this. Carlos and Mariela live off donations. You can help them with a one-off donation or through monthly support.
God promises that whoever gives to a poor person will not lack himself (Proverbs 28:27). If we keep giving, God promises that there will always be enough. Our dream is to help thousands of children by investing in their future. Your contribution can make a big difference to one of the thousands of Peruvian children who really need our help. On behalf of these children, I would like to thank you all for your support!” – Carlos van de Kamp
Carlos tells
The beginning
“When you look into the eyes of one of the children from Peru, you know that the help we give is not a drop in the ocean. I was once among that group of children who had no hope or future. Miraculously, God sent me to the Netherlands to be adopted. After I had a personal encounter with God, I got the desire to return to the country where I was born to give the children of Peru sight of a hopeful future.
In 2006, we started the first children’s restaurant in one of Arequipa’s poorest neighbourhoods. Today, over 3,000 children are fed in more than 40 children’s restaurants. Thanks to the support of our sponsors who help us help the children of Peru. Every day we thank God for so many kind people who help us make this work possible.
“He knows my name”
Watch the poignant story of Carlos who is found abandoned in Peru as a two-year-old boy and adopted by his Dutch parents. At the age of 20, he leaves everything behind to spread God’s love to the poorest children in Peru’s slums.
‘A wondrous journey’
At the age of 20, Carlos left everything behind to help Peru’s poorest children. Within a year, his dream seemed dashed and he had only crackers to eat. At that moment, his adoptive mother embarked on an extraordinary adventure. In this moving documentary, Carlos and Aukje tell how her miraculous journey led to thousands of children in Peru now being fed every day. This film won a Crown award in America and in Europe.
