Pan de Vida Children’s home

Give a child a home and a hopeful future

Children without a home

In poor neighbourhoods, families tend to live in a small space, eating and sleeping. Poverty is therefore often accompanied by serious problems such as child abuse, child abuse, incest and exploitation. Many parents struggle with alcoholism and mental health problems, leaving them unable to care for their children. It is also common for parents to die early or leave their children. This is often traumatic for the children.

Our solution

Children’s home

The boy, who was himself left an orphan, now runs the children’s home Casa Alegria (“house of joy”). Carlos and Mariela get to be a father and mother to children who no longer have a home or for whom living at home no longer proves possible.

The children’s home, Casa Alegria, houses children who are placed in the children’s home by the Child Protection Agency. At Casa Alegria, several children from one family can stay together. A team of staff – including a child psychologist – gives them all the care they need.

Casa Alegria is a safe place where children can be children again, have fun and develop. Pan de Vida gives these children a home and a hopeful future.

Your help is needed

Become an adoptive parent!

Casa Alegria, the children’s home, employs qualified staff such as a psychologist, social worker, nurse and caregivers. The children’s home receives no subsidy and depends entirely on donations. You can support a child financially by becoming an adoptive parent. It is possible to become an adopter from €50 a month, the actual ones are many times higher. You can always pray for them and write letters to them. Of course, one-off donations are also more than welcome. Will you help?
